DOBBS: I don't think that we should have any flag flying in this country except the flag of the United States. And let me tell you something else, since we're talking about double standards and I think you're right about people who would believe that.

But let's be clear. I don't think there should be a St. Patrick's Day. I don't care who you are... No, let me finish. No, the American dream is being ripped out of the hands of millions of U.S. citizens today. Their jobs are being outsourced. Their schools are falling apart. Half of the Hispanics in this country are dropping out of high school, half of them, and you know that. Half of our -- young blacks are dropping out of high school.

MURGUIA: But look at the contributions. Look at the contributions that immigrants are making. They're paying federal taxes.

ok... today is a day of determination!!!

i went swimming for an hour!! i feel sooo good!
and the best thing is --- it's free!!!

Went back home for the weekend -- Burke is great
sometimes i wonder why people dislike it so much

The family and i went to the Baltimore aquarium
i have to say, it is a lot more crowded than i remember
it is almost as though i couldn't even see the exhibits
and it felt like there weren't as many specimen

i am unsure about places like that
(especially after Bioethics.. but that's a totally different subject)

i got to bum a ride of off Mimi--
she was kind enough to being me to NoVA with her
i have to say, the ride is/goes so much faster with her behind the wheel

finished Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince-- hrrrm is all i can say

all in all, it was a very good weekend

i know the picture here is a little blurry,
but i just wanted to share how it looked before the day began

we would be there at 5:50-ish every morning and leave around 7:-ish pm
but patients would cue really early--some even cue at 7:30 pm, the previous day

having given the opportunity to be a part of this--for that i am really grateful

i believe that i have recieved so much-- it might not be tangible like dental work
but it sure feels like i got a lot of out it-- as much as the patients what we helped out

Just one of those days...

this past week has been really awesome! it was filled with a few challenges. but i think i got through it ok.
the last two days have been really crazy--one of the assistants is out of town, and it has been really crazy in the clinic. it got the adrenaline running. it helped me learn where more things belong and to assist more this week.
before, i was really nervous assisting--i dunno... i was just intimidate--i still am a little

sorry for not writing in a while.

Shiny Teeth and Me - Chip Skylark (Fairly Odd Parents)

ok, recap of my life:

>-4th of July ... we lit fireworks! it was great!!! next year will be more awesome!
-had the going away party--lots of crazy dancing
-moved to Richmond---never thought i had so much stuff--the apartment is great!
-working at the dental clinics (sometimes faculty practice, mostly with the grad students who are still excited when they get called doctor)
oooooh man... that is the most awesome thing!!!
i learn so much! the grad students are teaching me stuff, and they are sooo nice!
i assisted one of the faculty on my first day--i was nervous
the other assistants are super nice too!
one of them helped me get a spot on the MOM project (where we go down southern VA for a few days to help people who cant afford proper dental care)--im really excited about that!!! that will be so awesome and fulfilling!

one morning, while walking to work, i was dressed in scrubs... i was walking hurriedly, because usually in richmond, i just do. at a corner there was a construction guy... and while i was in the middle of the road crossing the street the guy said, "GOOD MORNING, DOC!"--i didnt even notice that he was talking to me till i crossed the other side of the street--it certainly made me laugh a little. i turned around and smiled at the old man and said good morning quickly--LOL! its not like i could turn around and be like, im sorry, im not actually a doctor, let alone started classes for dental school yet. i kinda felt bad that i just kept walking, as though i tricked him... but it also felt good that im a little bit closer to my dream

today, the grads went to this nitrous seminar/class, and the lead assistant told me that i can go--its pretty much for the whole department that i work in--- oh man!! i learned so much about nitrous that i didnt know before. let alone about local and general anesthesia. at a different session, the instructor was showing us how to use the safety/emergency/nitrous/oxygen equiptment and she said, dont rely on the students!-- something about they get confused or dont use their heads right away (something like that, not really sure about the exact wording). man, i felt kinda akward... HAHAHA, im just a dumb student! made me laugh in the inside

i must say, today=good day

the faculty is great
the assistants are awesome!!!
and the grads are super nice
